The lodge is set in a beautiful village, with amazing views to the nearby North York Moors National Park. The lodge is so well equipped. We had a wonderful time there, thank you!

We’ve all thoroughly enjoyed our five nights at your unique holiday lodge. Thank you for making it so welcoming: tea, coffee, milk, flowers and the dog biscuit! The lodge is ideally placed for exploring the area. Our recommendations would be: The Crosby at Thornton le Beans for dinner, lots of walks around Borrowby, trip to Whitby and especially fish & chips at the Magpie, also visit to Harrogate and of course tea at Betty’s. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay….

What an awesome little place. We have loved our 2 nights here….

Thank you so very much.  It has been the best and its very hard to drive away it has been so perfect xxx

What a wonderful week we have had in North Yorkshire ! The Lodge has been a real home from home, Pat you've thought of everything and more, Thank you! During our week we visited Marske by the sea, Falling Foss Waterfall, Robin Hoods Bay, The Farmers market in Thirsk and Grassington ( a must for any All Creatures Great and Small fans!!) The World of James Herriot museum in Thirsk is definitely worth a visit too! We would also recommend a drink or two in the Wheatsheaf, We can't wait to return

Love your Lodge Pat and you have been so helpful both before and during our stay. Love the wildlife around the lodge and the blackbirds are so busy - obviously still feeding young. During our week we have  seen a little owl, roe deer, rabbits, fox - fabulous!
Always love staying in Yorkshire but this lodge has been the best. Thank you we we hope to return.

A wonderful weekend had a Leake Green Lodge!!!

Pat and Brian were nothing short of exceptional during our stay. Nothing was a problem and communication was fantastic, and nothing had been overlooked within the lodge. Immaculately presented, well equipped and secluded enough to feel private. The lodge had everything we needed and more. The Outside space and views were brilliant! We will 100% be returning

Useful Information

Borrowby is a Hillside village, and Leake Greens Farm is at the top! Although the garden is flat, there is a hill to walk or drive up. It’s great to walk down to the Wheatsheaf Inn, coming back and you will need a torch when walking back in the dark (torch in Lodge). The Dog and Gun is 30 minutes walk. If you want to visit the Alpacas they are 10 minutes walk too. There is lots of maps and tourist guides in the Lodge. Guides for all appliances. Card and board games /croquet for lawn.

Flat Walk Blog

Borrowby is a Hillside village which indicates there are hills to climb when you go out for a walk...but here’s 3 flat alternatives. Walk 1) The H.RAP field When you turn off the A19 south of Borrowby you pass the Hillside Rural Activities Park. It was the brainchild of a local lady, who was secretary ...

Dog Blog

Leake Greens Lodge allows one well behave dog and although I do on occasion disgrace myself, generally speaking I’m a pretty good pupper. So when my humans took me to stay in the Lodge, I did some research on fun stuff we could do together. Here are a few of the things we enjoyed doing ...

A village of steep streets and narrow lanes, it has a wide view from its little hilltop between the Hambleton Hills and the great Plain of York. Standing by the old cross on the green, we look for miles over the Plain, so richly wooded and dotted with towns and villages that an ambassador at Henry the Eighth's Court once declared the view without parallel in Europe
